keeping God in our schools

I can't tell you how excited I am to be teaching in a Christian school. After years of searching I feel God has finally led me to my "calling".

In today's schools where prayer is not allowed and where we can't say the Pledge of Allegiance because it has the word God in it, I get to teach our future generation about Jesus, how he saved us, how he loves us! I get to pray with my students.

I'm so excited we've decided to enroll Otter. Although I'm sure it will be very challenging at times to teach him, this is the environment I want for him.

Every morning before school the staff spends time in the word with daily devotions. I'm really looking forward to this. I've never been good at keeping myself accountable to read His Word everyday, and now I can do it as part of my job!

Is the pay great? NO! It's really not even good. Nebraska is one of the lowest paying states in the country for teachers, and my school is quite a bit below that.

But my true reward will be waiting for me in heaven.

I bet you love it! We have a Christian school at our church and I volunteered for 2 years and have wonderful memories. If my kids were young and I had it to do over I'd send them to that school.

That's awesome!! I can't imagine being a Christian teaching in public school. It seems like it would be SO hard NOT to share your faith with your students. I'm glad you have the opportunity to teach in a Christian school. :)

Boo Boo gets one more year in our cherished Christian Pre-K, then off to public school because there is no way I could afford to send her to private school

I am so excited for all of you on this journey!

Did I really not know that you lived in Nebraska? We live just over the border in Iowa but we were in NE before that. Cool! Good luck!
