This is my first Aloha Friday post! If you're a first time visitor, welcome! Take a look around and I hope I'll be seeing you more often!
I'm so happy to say that breastfeeding is going great this time around! It was an absolute disaster with the other two! I breastfed Otter for about half a day before giving up. Raven was exclusively breastfed for two weeks with EXCRUCIATING pain and bleeding nipples, and then I started supplementing and quit breastfeeding altogether at two months.
Now that breastfeeding is going so beautifully, I wonder how long I'll decide to do it. People ask me how long I'm planning on nursing all the time. When I say I'd like to nurse for a year they pretty much tell me I'm crazy. I'm not going to set any specific date. For now I'll enjoy my precious time with The Baby and we can make the decision together.
Did you breastfeed your kids? If so, how long?

With my first 6 mos, second 3 mos, and third three weeks. Notice a trend?
My sister is still BF her first at 20 mos and going strong
My first I didn't breastfeed and my second I tried but ended up exclusively pumping for 4 months.
I did not ... =)
I tried nursing my daughter, but my milk never came in. And then when my son was born I was desperately sick so I didn't nurse him either.
Good luck! Glad to hear it's going well!
I breastfed both kids until they self weaned at 14 months.
i breastfed before and it lasted quite awhile even though he was mix-fed. i have another baby coming and i plan to breastfeed him too.
i think i'd be willing to breastfed for a year, but after 6-months i'll introduce formula or some other form of nourishement, just like i did with the first baby.
With my first I made it to about 6 weeks. With my second I made it to 10 months, and then one of my nipples cracked and I was only nursing from one side and I dried up. With my next one I'm determined to get to a year!
If you have time, come check out My Aloha Friday. Have a great weekend!
Yep, I was determined to reduce her risk of allergies (and my risk of breast cancer since I lost my mom)....so I lasted 16 months. It came quite easy to me, but not for my sister.
No I didn't with any of my kids.
I let my kids self-wean, the first wean when he was nine months because I was prego again, the doctors and vaccine totally screwed up my second sons digestive tract so we only made it three months, my third nurse until 20 months and my fourth is still nursing at 15 months and I don't think he has any intentions of stopping soon. Breastmilk is a perfect living God created food, I want them to nurse as long as they want to.
