That's right. Baby Fever.
Yes, I'm the one who has a 3-month-old.
Yes, I'm the one who said I was done.
The Baby is the BEST baby! She's already sleeping up to 10 hours at night! TEN people! I never did go through the new-baby-sleep-deprived zombie stage. It's been fabulous.
Hubby and I have had numerous conversations about whether we're done. I've shared with you my dilemmas about birth control. Everyone has always said you'll know when you're done. But I don't. And for some reason I feel like I have to decide NOW.
I decided the next time I got baby fever we'd get a dog. But I don't want a damn dog. I hate dogs.
3 makes more sense to me than 4, but I just can't say that I'm done yet. Why is this bothering me so much?
Our house wouldn't fit 4 kids.
I want to go on vacation, and the more kids we add the more difficult/expensive that's going to be.
In all honestly, I don't know if I'm longing for another baby, or just another pregnancy. I LOVED being pregnant, {even though this last one was the worst,} I LOVED laboring and delivering my babies epidural-free. {crazy I know} It makes me sad that I'll never get to do that again.
I've considered surrogacy, but unfortantely my happy pills take that out of the equation.
I know I just have to give it to God and let him take over. Because let's face it, if He wants me to have another one, it doesn't matter if I'm "done."
When and how did you know you were done?

I think I knew I was done when Aidan stood on the top bunk and peed off the bed onto Asher's bed below. Yep, that was the moment...
We have 2, and we are definitely done. We had a boy first, and my pregnancy was flawless. I loved being pregnant! But our 2nd (a girl) was different. The pregnancy was awful. I think we knew we were done as soon as we saw our beautiful baby girl. One boy, one girl. That's it! Good luck with your decision...I know it's a tough one.
Not done yet, since we only have one. But we'll stop before 5...My sister has 5. I don't think I could have that many.
I'll let you know when I figure it out. I still don't know if I'm "done" or not and my youngest is 2. I always said I was done...up until a few months ago. All of a sudden I had baby fever again. No idea why. I honestly think it's God telling me I'm not done yet, but I'm feeling led to adopt rather than have another. AH! See? I haven't figured it out!
I have 3 and NO more here!
I am in your boat. My husband is great with our two boys...I have the urge for another...but we fit in our house, in our van, we have two hands..etc. I hear that if you have any urge to have more then you should go for it...you will never regret having another one but you might regret not having one. Good luck! We are discussing this topic nightly too! I also loved being pregnant!
We are not done yet, but we only have one. My husband only wants two, but he was an accident, and the 3rd child in his family. So we'll see. :)
I have a 3 month old too and oh I could get the baby fever myself. Although I'm enjoying the baby I have, if I get my way, there will be a 4th in the future. I love babies (it's when they turn around 2ish that I take issue with them)
I loved this post! I think it's awesome that you can get baby fever with a 3 month old! I'm with you, I loved being pregnant. It was the conception & delivery I had problems with!
I knew I was finished when my doc told me I did not need to get pg again. I had close calls with both the girls. healthy babies, but me notsomuch.
Oh I SO have the fever! I just want to be pregnant honestly, but I'd love another little one too. My son is going to be an AMAZING big brother, and I can't wait for that. He was a supremely easy baby too (I didn't suffer the new baby sleep deprived zombie stage either) and I would love to do it again!
Le sigh---you know how I feel with my desperation for surrogacy. BUT--do not let ANYONE tell you how to feel, or that you just had a baby etc. THis is your beautiful life, your beautiful family. You want more kids, have more kids!! I have had a couple friends have kids when they were less than 6 weeks out from their last! At least the kids can share a lot of things and toys!!
Okay, I'm totally with you. I know what you mean.
Madelyn {7 mos}? Best baby. Ever. Great eater. Best sleeper. Has slept through the nite since day 1. I never felt so happy in my life.
But then I remember how Isabella was/is--our Diva. And I just don't know.
How will we ever know for sure? It drives me crazy...
ps-totally agree about epi free labor/delivery. I felt like a million bucks!
xo

I have four and still have baby fever...my pregnancies were horrible (bedrest for 6 mo with #2) and 2 miscarriages between 3 and 4...I think I would have had a couple more if I didnt have to carry them or pay for them =)
We have two and we are finished. I could have been tempted by three but I had HORRIBLE pregnancies including hospitalizations for pre-term labor. Also, my husband insisted that we were a man-to-man defense family rather than zone defense. LOL!

I am in the same boat!! Well, except for the three month old part. I have a 4 year old and have just gotten the urge to have another. I am not obsessing over it though. I figure that if God means it to be, then I will get pregnant, and if not, then it just wasn't part of the plan and that's ok too!
I would love to have another baby but my husband says that two is enough. I did have pre-eclampsia with both of my pregnancies, an emergency c-section and a repeat c-section and my 6 month old has colic. So I'm really not sure why I would want to go through with it again. But there is just something so special about being pregnant... And I LOVE babies!
This is one of the hardest things for me too. My third and youngest is 7...so, I really feel like it's now or never. My husband is so completely done that I've had to give it over to God and know that whatever is meant to be will be. I've been told you'll know when you're done too but so far, I don't have that definite answer either. Being pregnant and having my babies was such a special part of my life and the time with them is so fleeting, they grow up so so fast. I definitely miss having a little one but I am also very blessed with three healthy and fabulous kids so I have to trust that whatever is meant to be will be. :)
