please don't touch me

My love language without a doubt is Words of Affirmation. Hubby is still trying to figure this out. But I have to give him the benefit of the doubt, because his love language... is touch. I'll be honest. I really kinda hate touching.

Otter's love language is touch too. He's always hanging on me and touching me and it drives me CRAZY! I feel so smothered. Now don't get me wrong. I love hugs and cuddles from my kids and Hubby. Just don't overdue it. Don't hang on me. Don't play with my hair. I don't like it.

See the other end of our king size bed all the way over there? Please go there. I must admit. Our investment in a king size Tempur-pedic bed has not done wonders for our marriage. :)

Have you read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman? Read it. Just because being touched makes you feel loved, doesn't mean it makes your spouse feel loved. Find what makes them feel loved. It's what marriage is all about people.

I won't lie. It's difficult for me to get past my touch issues and show my husband I love him. {and no it's not about sex...} I scratch his back because I know he likes it. I snuggle, even though it pains me to see a good 6 feet of my precious bed being neglected. I love my husband. And I'll show him that I love him. Sacrifice. Accommodation. Love. Marriage.

I loved this post! I HATE being touched too, especially by people I don't know... ICK!

Don't mind the hub & kids too much but it has to be on my terms otherwise I feel smothered too.

I'm not that adverse to touch, though I do get to the point where I think, "STOP touching me. Let me be for a minute!"

My language is acts of service.

Ugh...I am with you on the touching. Makes me crazy - The 22 months I breastfed my Boo Boo La La I think I reached my max for life.

LOL! I love a good hug and cuddle every now and then, but yeah, don't touch me. We have a king size bed as well, and he's on one end and I'm on the other. LOL

I've never been muchof a toucher either- in fact I am the opposite- except for my children- or me, I think it's an only child thing.

It depends of my mood!
Sometimes I like it, sometimes I just don't ! It is worse coz my BF never knows what to do! hahahaha

This is so true. It is all about figuring out what the other one needs and working to accommodate and respect each other's differences. It is a hard thing to learn, but it works wonders. I think it is great that you sometimes do things that might not be your favorite but are things that he loves. That shows maturity.

And here I thought it was just me that didn't like to snuggle with her husband. Phew! Glad I am not the only one out there.

Loved this post. And thank-you for the info on the button.

We *just* went through this study, and we are still working on really learning each other -- even after 7 years. But I guess marriage has to be continuing education, huh? (Thanks for your sweet comment, and I'm following you!)

I'm somewhere in the middle. At times I need it--but a majority of the time? Get away!

I love hugging my girls, etc--but the sleeping part? I have to be on my own side of the bed. If he tries to snuggle I toss, turn, sigh...haha!

Great post! xoxo

This is a terrific post. You're right. I should read that book...

I love our king-sized Tempurpedic bed, too!! And, thankfully, Mr.4444 and I love to snuggle on one half of it :)
