Movie Monday @ Messy Mommy

The Lovely Bones: Centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family - and her killer - from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. PG-13

I didn't care for this movie. I read the book and it was written very well but I didn't like the Godless heaven. I know it's only a movie but the sad Godless heaven really bothered me. It makes dying super depressing. Hubby didn't really enjoy it either. In fact it probably wouldn't have even been a movie I was interested in except I had read the book and therefore had to watch the movie. And frankly I would just like to remain in my little bubble and believe that there really aren't psychos out there who are capable of doing such a horrible thing.

Can't wait to hear your review! I totally slacked and didn't watch any movies last week...lol!

Hopefully I'll watch something this week?!

I concur. Would have been much better if it had just focused on the father trying to find his daughter's killer.

Glad I only paid $1.00 to rent it.

That is sad. A Godless heaven would be no heaven at all. I've thought about watching this one but may just skip it now. Doesn't sound like my kind of movie at all!

I half-heartedly asked my guys if they wanted to go see "Letters From Juliet" yesterday. They declined. Ha ha! So I have no movies to share this week. Hopefully I can join in next week!

I have not seen that movie yet because I knew what it was about and wasnt sure Id be able to handle it. I LOVE the author of that book though.

Ooh, I wanted to see that, but now I'm not so sure.

Anything where phreakos kill little children, or hurt them, I am so tired of watching. I just won't anymore unless I am out numbered by the group.

:(

I had heard that it was not very good in comparison to the book so you're just confirming it. Thanks for saving my money!

I think I'll pass on this one! Thanks for the review!

It wasn't my favorite either. Like another commenter said, it may have been better if it focused on her father finding the killer.

I'm there with you. I would rather remain in my little bubble. I do not like my happiness being bogged down by hearing about the crap. Just the thought of this makes me put my daughter in that situation and then the tears come and the nightmares. No, thanks.
