prayer is power

Prayer is Power

I wasn't planning on this being a weekly thing, but I've decided it's important and also a big part of my life.

Ya see, lately I haven't been putting God first. In fact, I haven't been putting him second either. Or third.

I'm not a proud person, but I'm not humble either.

This week, I'm praying for God to humble me. Put others before myself.

I don't want to read my Bible and pray just because I'm afraid of the consequences if I don't.

I want to read His word and pray because I WANT to, because I CRAVE it, because I DESIRE it, because I NEED it. Ya know, the way I feel about blogging.

I'm placing a Prayer Request button on my sidebar. Please click on it and enter your requests and praises into the mcklinky. You can add a post link if you wish but it's not required. I will start a new one each month.

Grab the button and place it on your site as well! Watch the Power of Prayer in action.

Keep me accountable in my walk with the Lord, and let me help you keep yourself accountable.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. ~Phillipians 4:6

God bless!

Interesting to read your thoughts on this, since it's quite different from the way I see it. I don't like religion in general, and I don't like gods (none of them). I think religion needs to be challenged all the way. In the past (and still) Christianity, today even more Islam. Rather than prayer is power, I would say blasphemy is power. One (maybe provocative) question I always ask believers is the following: Why did you choose that god, and not one of the others when there are so many to choose from?

I have a post that I'm working on about where I have been putting God and my need to be humbled. But, it's one of those posts that I consider "my baby" that I have to tweak and tweak until I'm sure I'm saying what I want it to say!

I will be grabbing your button.

When someone asks "Why have you chosen this God?" I can simply answer with this....I can feel My God in my heart. When I pray, I can feel Him listening. When I am at church or in need, I can feel His presence. There is a great amount of faith involved in being a believer, but it is faith that helps get us through some of the toughest times in our lives.
