...is what happened a couple months ago. Hubby left a pen in his shirt and I didn't check the pockets. Grrrr. Thankfully most of the shirts were his work shirts anyway, so a little ink wasn't a huge deal. And I would've been super pissed if they were my clothes. hehehe. I tried Goo Gone on the dryer and that didn't work. I guess I just don't have enough "elbow grease" to get the job done. Whatever. I HATE using my limited supply of elbow grease anyway. So I decided...screw it. The ink on the dryer is dry, it won't rub off on the clothes. This was proven correct, and I've been drying clothes in my ink-stained dryer ever since.
Well today...I have good news and bad news. The good news is I washed another pen and it didn't explode. Wahoo! The bad news... I washed a pack of gum. You heard me (okay technically you read me,) a flippin PACK of GUM. Ya know, the sticky, gooey, "how in the haitis am I going to get this shit off" stuff.
So Hubby blows a gasket and tells me I really need to start going through the pockets. Listen here you...you...[insert appropriate term here.] I wash your clothes. I wash my clothes. I wash Otter's clothes. I wash Raven's clothes. I wash sheets. I wash blankets. I wash towels that you use once and throw in the laundry. Why the hell can't you check your own damn pockets? And if I recall, it was YOU who washed the brand new RED shirt that I specifically told you NOT to wash because it would bleed IN THE WHITES! My precious clothes...ruined. It would have been one thing if he washed the shirt with colors after I told him not to, but WASHING IT WITH WHITES???? HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I've tried to tell you dear, helping me with laundry DOES NOT HELP ME AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhoo, a little Goo Gone took the gum right out of the dryer, and we'll see how the clothes come out after being treated. The worst part...time wasted! I have to wash the whole damn load over again. So...maybe it would be easier to just check the pockets, but you didn't hear that from me.
